After
many years of research we
have developed an unique microalgae
production system based on
photobioreactors. This patented
system consists of a number
of outdoor closed photobioreactor.
These
closed photobioreactors prevent
any type of contaminants entering
the system and in this way
we provide high quality microalgae.
The
systems are monitored giving
a continuous control on the
production.
Our
photobioreactors are all automated
which avoids direct manipulation
during harvesting and reduces
contamination risks.
SHELF LIFE FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS
WITH NO PRESERVATIVES
Freeze-drying,
or lyophilization, is the sublimation/removal
of water content and desorption
from the product. This conservation
process maintains cells structure
without any degradation.
The
process occurs under a vacuum,
with the microalgae solidly
frozen. During the process water
inside the cells slowly vaporizes
under the low air pressure,
and ends in a condenser.
After
rehydration of freeze-dried
products, both the nutritional
value and the quality remains
the same as that of the fresh
product. Freeze dried microalgae
maintains their original shape
and texture, unlike air dried/spray
dried microalgae which shrink
and shrivel due to high temperature
processing which decreases product
quality. Just add water and
in one minute the microalgae
rehydrates.
Freeze-dried
products are easy to use by
cell resuspension in water(MOVIE)
The
process maintains the product
shelf life for at least 2 years,
making possible the storage
of microalgae biomass for long
periods. .

Research and scientific papers
show there is no difference
using live algae or freeze-dried
algae. For many applications
freeze-dried microalgae gives
higher yields.
